Oh, the marvels of electricity! You no longer need to be super fit or follow a draconian training programme to enjoy the famous climb up the 21 switchbacks to Alpe d'Huez! The road is now open to all cyclists, so welcome to the world of Tour de France exploits!

ROUTE
Follow signs for Briançon out of Bourg d'Oisans and turn off onto the D211 to tackle the 21 switchbacks up to Alpe d'Huez and the official stage finish of the Tour de France on Avenue du Rif Nef at the top of the resort.
You can also carry on to Lac Besson (5.5 extra kms and 250m extra height gain).
Return on the same road.
