In the moonlight, a caravan appears on the horizon—it’s a group of Gypsies: Rita and her son Calo.
From the house on the edge of the meadow, Lucie watches them with curiosity. Her uncle Fulbert forbids her from meeting them, and yet she may very well need their help.
