The Alpe d’Huez, towards a more inclusive mountain
Alpe d’Huez attracts thousands of visitors every year in search of winter sports, grandiose panoramas and varied activities. For a long time perceived as difficult to access for people with reduced mobility, the mountain is nevertheless evolving to become more inclusive. Today, the Alpe d’Huez is committed to facilitating access to its infrastructures: adapted ski lessons, accessible ski lifts, furnished accommodations and restaurants designed to accommodate all audiences.
The pleasures of skiing with trained instructors
Skiing is often perceived as a sport inaccessible to people with disabilities (reduced mobility, visual, hearing or intellectual impairment) but at the Alpe d’Huez, thanks to about ten trained ESF instructors, they can also enjoy the joys of skiing.Dualski, the uniski, the ski kart, ski tandem … The ESF has all the tools adapted according to the handicap, the experience on the slopes and the objectives.

Facilitate access to ski lifts
For several years, the Oz-Vaujany resort (Espace Alpe d’Huez), has been offering its customers three Snowheels free of charge.
It is a rolling platform allowing a “seated” skier using a handiski device to reach the ski lifts independently and without having to get out of their device to borrow a wheelchair.
Once at the summit, the staff of the ski lifts will pick up the Snowheel to bring it back to the departure station for a next skier.

Adapted rates
The prices of the packages are set according to the disability rate indicated on the CMI (between €20 and €30). To benefit from advantageous rates, simply present your CMI card, an identity document and a photo of your identity at the ski lift ticket offices. The escort can also benefit from a preferential rate of €42, provided that the escort mention is indicated on the CMI card.
Armchairs in altitude restaurants
In this desire to facilitate access for people with reduced mobility to our destination, GDS medical provides four armchairs in 4 mountain restaurants: La Cabane, Le Chantebise, La Folie douce and Signal 2108.

In the resort, equipped restaurants and accommodations
Some restaurants and accommodation in the resort are equipped and adapted to accommodate people with reduced mobility. To find them, go here by selecting the filter “PMR access”.
A selection of activities adapted
