Alpe d'Huez/Grandes Rousses mountain biking circuit in figures

More than 250 km of tracks and 36 circuits
That connect the Alpe d'Huez to 7 other resorts: Allemont, Auris, Bourg d'Oisans, Le Freney d'Oisans, Oz-en-Oisans, Vaujany and Villard-Reculas.
• 36 signposted routes: mountain, rocks, high mountain pasture, forest, for everybody from beginners to experts --> 16 cross-country tracks: 123 km --> 19 downhill tracks: 120 km --> 3 permanent downhill tracks (7 km): training and competition tracks for experienced downhill riders (who have a suitable bike and must wear a helmet), located under the first section (beginners) and the second section (moderately difficult) of the Grandes Rousses DMC, beneath the Poutran cable car (experts).
• 32 km of non-stop downhill tracks on the Mégavalanche circuit, the longest in the world : start on a glacier and finish in the valley. (Megavalanche Week 16th Edition - From 6 to 11 July 2010)
• A vertical drop of 2,610 m: from 3,330 m (Pic Blanc) to 720 m (Allemont).
• 9 cable cars: that provide access to 10,000 m of downhill thrills in a single day!
• 3 Bike Park: Alpe d'Huez, Oz Station et Vaujany la Vilette
• 1 Four Cross: Oz-en-Oisans (550m)
• 2 Pump Track: Alpe d'Huez et Oz-en-Oisans

News 2010 – Grandes Rousses MTB Area
• Creation of a new track going down from Alpe d'huez to the "télévillage" lift of Huez. The bikers with all diffrent levels can reach Huez village by this new track very diffrent from the other ones in the higher mountains: rocks, streams, forest and small bridges... A beautiful run where you can profit to visit the village before going back up to Alpe d'Huez.
• There are changes on the Four cross track in Oz en Oisans to keep up with the new UCI/FFC rules.
• A Kids park with ramps and bumps in slope style and pump track has been made in Oz en Oisans.
• The creation of a new track between rocks and fields above the montain bike park area with many northshore like bridges.
• There are some changes on the Montfrais track (no 24) to make it accessful to a larger amount of people.
The Cycling School offers a variety of instruction and guidance packages, from easy family rides to descent courses to prepare you for the Mégavalanche Race.
Alpe d'Huez Megavalanche Week - from 6th to 11th July 2010
During Megavalanche Week, Alpe d’Huez and the Grandes Rousses Massif resort becomes the heart of the mountain bike freeride world.
There are 1400 participants from 20 nations, 7 days of non-stop races and events : the Sprint Avalanche of Oz-en-Oisans, the Mega Film Festival nights, Exhibition and test-ride center with the best and latest mountain bike and components brands, a qualification day on the Dôme track, and the pinnacle of the most spectacular mountain bike race... the Megavalanche.
